Coffee country and the world's tallest palms
A small town of brightly painted balconies in the coffee triangle, next to the Cocora valley — where wax palms, the tallest palm species on earth, stand 60 metres above cloud forest pasture.

Signature local dishes worth seeking out.
Willys jeeps from the main square to Cocora; buses from Armenia or Pereira.
Do the Cocora loop anticlockwise — you climb through cloud forest first and finish among the palms.
Cities are fine with normal precautions — "no dar papaya", don't flash phones or jewellery. Use registered taxis or apps at night.
